# Past-due invoice

**A past-due invoice, or pay app, is one that hasn't been paid by the due date in your contract or invoice terms.**

## Why it matters on a drywall job

- The sooner a late payment is followed up, the easier it usually is to resolve.
- Past-due amounts can affect lien and notice timing, so they're worth tracking per job.
