# Ready-mix joint compound

**Ready-mix (premixed) compound comes wet in a bucket or box and hardens as it dries. All-purpose, taping and lightweight topping types are common.**

## Why it matters on a drywall job

- It's easy to use straight from the bucket, but drying time depends on weather and humidity.
- The type you choose affects material count and sanding time.
