# Schedule of values (SOV)

**A schedule of values breaks your contract amount into line items, such as hanging, tape and float, and texture by area or floor. Each pay application bills a percentage of each line.**

## Why it matters on a drywall job

- A clear SOV makes your percent-complete easier for the GC to approve.
- Front-loading or vague lines can lead to pushback on every pay app.
