# Free drywall bid sheet template

**A bid sheet is the internal worksheet where you work out your number: quantities, your unit costs, labor, extras, overhead and profit. The customer usually sees the estimate or proposal, not the bid sheet. Below is a one-page template and a CSV.**

No prices are filled in. Quantities shown are **example data** so you can see a filled row; costs are left for you.

## How to fill it in

1. **Start from the plans.** Note the plan date and addenda at the top so you know which set you bid.
2. **Do the takeoff.** Measure walls and ceilings separately, add waste, and turn area into sheets, mud, tape, bead and screws. The [drywall bid calculator](https://tapeandfloat.com/calculator.html) can help with quantities using your own prices.

5. **Add overhead and profit.** Use your own percentages.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is a bid sheet vs. a proposal?
The bid sheet is your math. The proposal (or estimate) is what you send: scope, exclusions, price, terms and signature lines.

### Should I bid per square foot or per board?
Both are common in drywall. Use the unit your crew is paid on and that your past jobs let you check.

### How much waste should I add?
