Bid
By James Grokman, CEO, TapeAndFloat · Updated 2026-10-28
A bid is a firm price you submit for a job on a set of plans, usually to a GC who is comparing several subs.
Why it matters on a drywall job
- Bids are usually compared line by line, so missing scope or unclear exclusions can make yours look higher or lower than it is.
- A bid you don't follow up on is easy for a busy GC to lose track of.
