Progress billing
By James Grokman, CEO, TapeAndFloat · Updated 2026-10-28
Progress billing is billing a job in stages as work is completed, usually by percent complete on each line of the schedule of values, instead of one invoice at the end.
Why it matters on a drywall job
- Billing as you go keeps cash coming in on long jobs.
- Overbilling or underbilling percent complete can cause friction with the GC either way.
