AIA G702 / G703
By James Grokman, CEO, TapeAndFloat · Updated 2026-10-28
AIA G702 and G703 are standard pay application forms published by the American Institute of Architects. G702 (Application and Certificate for Payment) is the summary page with totals, change orders and retainage; G703 (Continuation Sheet) lists each schedule-of-values line. AIA also publishes subcontractor versions, G702S and G703S.
Why it matters on a drywall job
- Many commercial GCs ask for pay apps in this format or one based on it.
- The totals on the two pages usually need to match, or the pay app can come back for corrections.
