Free drywall crew schedule template (English + Spanish)
By James Grokman, CEO, TapeAndFloat · Updated 2026-10-28
A drywall crew schedule is a weekly list of which crew is on which job, doing what, on which day. This free bilingual template has column headers in English and Spanish so the office can plan the week, spot a crew booked on two jobs the same day, and send tomorrow's assignments to crews that work in Spanish.
The column headers are in both languages. The EJEMPLO row is sample data, not a real job.
Why a crew schedule matters for a drywall sub
- Double-booked crews. When jobs move around, it's easy to promise the same crew to two GCs on the same day. One job sits empty and that GC is unhappy. A schedule with one row per crew per day makes the overlap easy to see.
- Materials not on site. Sending a hang crew to a job before the board arrives wastes a day. A "Materials ready" column makes you check before you send anyone.
- Inspection and walkthrough dates. Some days are fixed by someone else. Writing them on the schedule keeps the crew working toward the right date.
- GC schedule changes. When the GC moves your start date or adds work, write it down the day it happens. Those changes are often where a change order starts, and a dated schedule shows what was planned and what changed.

How to use it
- One row per crew per day. If Crew 2 works Monday through Wednesday at the same job, that's three rows. It looks like more typing, but it's what makes overlaps visible.
- Check for the same crew on two jobs the same day. Sort by Date, then by Crew. If the same crew shows up twice on one date at different jobs, move one of them before you send assignments.
- Confirm materials and access. Before a row goes to "Confirmed", check that material is on site and you have the address, gate code or contact the crew needs.
- Write down GC changes the same day. If the GC moves a start date or adds rooms, update the row and add a note. Extra work goes on a change order.
- Send tomorrow's assignments every afternoon. Text each crew lead with the format below and ask them to reply OK.
- Friday look-ahead. Every Friday, fill in next week's rows, check for double-bookings and missing materials, and confirm inspection dates with the GC.

Frequently asked questions
What is a drywall crew schedule?
A list of which crew is at which job on each day, with the task (hang, tape, finish, texture or patch), the start time, whether materials are ready, and any inspection or walkthrough date.
Why one row per crew per day?
So you can see every day each crew is booked. If a crew covers three days at one job, that's three rows. When you sort by date and crew, a crew booked at two jobs on the same day stands out right away.
How do I spot a double-booked crew?
Sort the sheet by Date and then by Crew lead. If the same crew appears twice on one date with two different jobs, one of those jobs needs another crew or another day.
When should I plan next week?
A Friday look-ahead works well for many offices: fill in next week's rows, check for double-bookings and missing materials, and confirm inspection dates with the GC before the weekend.
Can I send assignments to the crew by text?
Yes. Use the bilingual text format on this page to send tomorrow's job, task, start time and materials status to each crew lead, and ask them to reply OK. The office updates the CSV.
Do I need TapeAndFloat to use this template?
No. The CSV is free and works in Excel or Google Sheets with no sign-up. TapeAndFloat is a separate AI office assistant that keeps jobs, crews and money straight in a Google Sheet and flags a crew booked at two jobs the same day so you can fix it.
